I decided to try some of this fancy-schmancy website stuff. This site is now using WordPress, with Gallery 2 for the pictures, and WPG2 to let the two programs get along (more or less). Now it should be easier for Reina and I to keep the photos up to date, and maybe we can use this site to distribute the pictures to everyone after a group event.
I was hoping to find a fully-integrated WordPress photo gallery plugin, but I couldn’t find one that would do what I wanted: nestable albums, and several different viewing sizes for each image (e.g., thumbnail, regular viewing, and original image size). Gallery 2 does all this (and much more), but even with the WPG2 integration, I haven’t found an intuitive way to insert images from the gallery into WordPress posts. Obviously, I can just have WordPress link to the gallery’s web page, or refer to an image from the gallery, but I want a tighter integration. Ah well, it seems I can’t get everything that I want right now.
